How can my Dog be more obedient?

Author: Jeremy Goh

One of the common questions being asked from dog owners is, ""How can my Dog be more obedient?"" All dog owners like having accompanied by obedient dogs. However this is often not the case.

I brought a pup 2 years back. As everyone knows a pup never keeps still- at one moment chewing on my shoes, then another digging hole, even barking at friends whenever they visited. But now, my pup has grown up and well trained as an obedient dog.

Initially I started up beating my pup whenever it chews my slippers. At first it works well, after a few beating it seems to be more afraid of me and starting to distance itself from me. Then I changed my technique to scolding and praising my pup, it seems to get the wrong idea that I am playing with him. I thought it was because my pup is still young and fail to obey my instructions. However I was very wrong, months later he didn't get better and even worse than before.

Rewarding method seems to works best for my pup. Whenever he listens to my command, I reward him with snack. Believe it, it didn't took him long to understand and following those simple instructions with a reward. I used to get the wrong idea of bribing instead of rewarding. Only reward your pup after it follows your instructions, at first I actually offering my pup a snack to get him out.

As well known that bring your dog to a professional dog trainer seems to be only way to overcome your current situation. Professional dog trainer charges often range from $100 to $200 teaching your dog very basic instructions. For a proper dog to be well trained, it usually takes at least 8 lessons of 1 1/2 each lesson. If you are hoping that your dog can perform task like jump and fetch, it takes more then 15 lessons.

If you are serious about spending your precious time with your family and at the same time training and playing with dog in a easy to follow step by step instructions. Then this is the solution for you. You can check it out at www.sitstayandfetch.com.

So now you must be thinking, how is it possible for you when you got no experience with dog training?

www.s itstayfetch.net helped me trains my dog to be obedient and well mannered. All the while, it was the lack of proper communications with my dog which causes him to be disobedient. By having proper communicating with my dog, leading him which is his toy to play with and not chew on any furniture or slippers, he never did it again.

I actually learn how reinforce my position as the ""pack leader"", let my dog know that I am the boss, now he easily respond to my commands. I manage to stop him from barking at stranger or dog during a walk in the park. I'm no longer feeling embarrassed by my dog's aggressive behavior.

Beside all the benefit of having a well trained dog. The best of all is having a close relationship growth between us. Now, I love him more than ever.

Well, that's all. I cannot revival more that I'm supposed. Anyway you can start training your dog today. Start planning more time with your loves one and at the same time build up personal growth in your relationship with your dog. What I am trying show you is not a 1 day training program or a course of 8 to 9 weeks. It only took me at least 10 minutes a day to teach him perform simple instructions like sit, stay and come. Now, my dog not only listened to my instruction but to all my family members as well, him is one of my families too.

Training your dog is not that difficult after all, once you get the proper procedure, knowing what he wants and letting him know that you are the ""pack leader"" he will follow you instructions and love you as much as you love him.

There are many ways to train a dog, but having did it correct the first time can dramatically avoid trouble and reduce your load. Feel free to sign up a FREE newsletter at www.s itstayfetch.net to learn more about dog training.
